EVENT-13/09/2021
A Health Awareness Program was conducted at Shivalik Institute of Ayurved and research in accordance with the celebration of “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” for school children on 13/09/2021.
6 Schools were approached for the purpose, of which 28 students of 3 schools have participated. The event included:-
- Awareness regarding Disease prevention and Health promotion through Ayurvedic methods of healthy living.
- Awareness regarding important common medical plants and visit to Herbal Garden in campus.
- Ayurvedic preparations and Formulations which can be prepared at home.
All the visitors including the faculty of the schools were given general introduction about the Institute. A brief introduction to AYUSH with reference to Ayurveda was also given to them.
Students were made aware about daily regimen (Dincharya), Food (Aahar), Seasonal regime (Ritucharya), Natural Urges (Consept of Veg), Good Conduct (AAchar Rasayan), and Nature of Body (Prakriti).
General information about some medical plants such as:- Guduchi, Ashwagandha, Amla, Tulsi, Ginger, Aloe Vera, etc., was provided, along with some formulations and preparations like Swaras, Churna, Awleh, etc..
Then students were taken to the Herbal Garden of the campus and introduced practically how the common herbs look like in nature. Students were also introduced to the Teaching Pharmacy where medicines are prepared on a small scale. Raw Drugs in the department of Dravyaguna were displayed to the students as well.
The event met its conclusion with the distribution of parting gifts which included some refreshments and 3 types of Churnas (Mulethi Churna , Avipatikar Churna , Higwastak Churna ) and Chyavanprash manufactured in the Shivalik Teaching Pharmacy.
