Shivalik Institute of Ayurved and Research; Dehradun is the prime Institute of Ayurveda; founded by visionary Ayurveda practitioners in the year of 2004. The Institute started its academic functioning by catering Ayurveda education in Pharmacy, Nursing and Panchakarma. Over the years; Shivalik Institute of Ayurveda and Research stood out as the unique brand in academic field; providing government as well as private jobs to numerous students throughout Uttarakhand. The Institute then located in Jogiwala; Dehradun became the unique professional choice for bright students from corners of Garhawal, Kumaon and Jaunsar.

The Institute expanded its horizons in the year 2017 with new vision, new infrastructure and new team. The Institute launched its new campus in educational hub of Dehradun on Chakrata Road. Located in traditional Mango farm of Banshiwala; the Institute retained its originality and coexistence with nature while building the new infrastructure. Dr.Satendra Goyal; Director of SIAR always enforced that Nature is the foundation of Ayurveda and educating Ayurveda students must start with teaching them coexistence with the nature.

Dr.Simran ; Principal – Director  is of opinion that Ayurveda practiced throughout India is different; influenced by regional diversity as well as diversity in traditional schools of practicing Ayurveda. She thus made it an aim to gather expert Ayurveda practitioners and academicians from different parts of the country. The SIAR academic team thus seen today comprises of Vaidyas from Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Orissa and Telangana.

Ms. Gargi Sabharwal – Director of the Institute who is a advocate by profession is devoting her valuable time and legal experience for the smooth functioning of the Institute. Dr.Rajeev Sharma – Director; brings with him management experience of Ayurveda Institute and global experience of academic training. This is perhaps the only Ayurveda Institute in Uttarakhand; that is run by the Ayurveda practitioners as directors. Mr.Durga Verma – Director is the leading educationist with his own empire of educational hub for studies of law and management. Mr.Verma’s vision and extensive experience of managing educational institute has proved to be the boon for the institute. Mr.Lokesh Jain – Director is an entrepreneur and businessman. He brings the element of innovation and out of the box thinking into the management; which is the necessity for the day for institute as well as for staff and students.

Institute plunged a long jump of ambition within the first academic year of 2017-18 by achieving award for Best emerging college in Ayurveda in Uttarakhand, with its first year UG students presenting research studies in prime institutes such as AIIMS Rishikesh and Banaras Hindu University; and with having the topper of first year Uttarakhand Ayurveda University student from the Institute. The journey continues as the Institute plans and ventures forward to new horizons each day.
